The RMWB’s Planning and Development Office Is Reopened

Permit processing and information services are available online any time at rmwb.ca/e-permit. Online requests for building plans, real property reports, titles and flood recovery information packages can be requested by email at p&drecordmanagement@rmwb.ca.

The Planning and Development Department encourages all residents and business owners to use online services first, however in-person guidance and permit and business license applications will also be available at the Timberlea Landing office located at 309 Powder Drive.

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 4, with regular office hours beginning on Tuesday, May 5 (Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

Planning and Development is also developing the following resources for flood-affected residents and business owners:

  • Dedicated webpage with information regarding flood recovery
  • Information packages and in-person guidance for next steps in rebuild or restoration

COVID-19 Safety Measures

To ensure the safety of visitors as well as our staff, the RMWB has implemented the following operational plan for reopening the Planning and Development Office which has been approved by Alberta Health Services:

  • Floor taping to maintain 2 meters of distance between visitors
  • Mandatory and continuous mask wearing for visitors – masks will be provided for those who do not have one.
  • PPE for all staff including gloves, masks, and sanitizer
  • Protective barriers to separate staff from the public
  • Increased and regular cleaning and disinfecting of high contact areas
  • Hired security to control social distancing
  • If you have a fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat or shortness of breath, do not visit our office. Instead, please use our online services or contact our office for support by phone.

Electrical Re-Energization

Anyone requiring electrical re-energization, must request an RMWB inspection by calling Pulse at 780-743-7000 or filling out an online form at rmwb.ca/ElectricalInspection.

If approved, the home/business can contact ATCO Electric at 1-800-668-5506 for electric hookup. If you do not pass the inspection you must hire a licensed contractor and they will obtain the Safety Codes permits to repair your electrical system.
